South Australia coronavirus restriction easing is brought forward

From Friday 22 May, South Australia will be easing coronavirus restrictions, which many people are looking forward to. The state government made decided to bring forward the restrictions which will allow indoor dining (10 patrons) and outdoor dining (10 patrons) in restaurants and cafes.

Pubs aren’t too far away from reopening, with the scheduled date being 5 June, only allowing for seated dining. Originally, the previous SA restriction roadmap only allowed 10 outdoor diners with no alcohol until June 8.

It is understood that health authorities have brought forward the restriction date so the hospitality industry and capitalise on the long weekend trade. Alcohol is permitted allowed to be served to patrons, police will be resuming stationary drug and alcohol testing.

June 5 will also see cinemas, gyms, fitness centres, beauty pallor’s and non-therapeutic massage therapy re-open for business.

South Australia has recorded only 1 confirmed case of coronavirus which is an important milestone, however we mustn’t become too complacent now that restrictions are being eased.
