Tony Meissner

Tony Meissner retired in Dec 2010 after 45 years in the SA Public Service working in the departments of primary industries, water and environment. His first 30 years he undertook agricultural and horticultural research in fertiliser and irrigation. He was regional manager for the Department of Water for 2 years in the early 2000s. He managed the River Murray Water Monitoring Unit at Berri before retirement. He represented the SA Government on several inter-state committees on water and primary Industries. He joined the LAAS Board in 1998 and later was Chair of the Board for 6 years resigning in 2008.

Chief Executive Officer

Roger Firstbrook

Has been employed by the organisation since it's inception in 1986, and has worked in the field of intellectual disability for over 30 years, including nursing training in Wales in the early 1980's. Registered Mental Deficiency Nurse and Developmental Educator.

Took over the role of CEO in 2011. Also Public Officer and Responsible Officer.

Jane Carpenter

Employed as an Allied Health Assistant at Country Health in Berri. Joined the Board in 2017. Jane has Certificate III in Community Services (Disability) and Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant. "I have a young adult daughter with Down Syndrome, which has led us to pursue opportunities for her and to support her to be a progressive and independent individual."
